Born in a Musicians family, Ram Shankar is an actor, playback singer and produced many Bollywood films. Ram Shankar performed around 3000+ shows of Sufi Songs, Ghazal’s, Bhajan’s in and around India and lent his voice to about 100+ albums. With 35 years of experience and expertise in the industry, he has a huge contribution to the Bollywood’s all-time hit albums.
Ram Shankar was born in Mumbai in a family where music is heart and soul to the members of the family. His father Late Shree Shankar Ji and his uncle Late Shree Shambhu Ji were world famous musicians. They were known for the Classical and Light Music knew as the “Sufi Singers duo” in the name of “Shankar Shambu Qawwal.”
Ram Shankar under the guidance of his father and uncle started learning Indian Classical and Light Music at a tender age of 5. Within five years he learned and shaped himself as a musician making his debut public performance in Shabe Ghazal Program held at the famous Shanmukhananda Auditorium in Mumbai at the age of 10 years. From that day he never looked back and left no stone unturned.

He started his career as a playback singer and sung for many Bollywood films like Bichchhu, Aastha, Jaanwar, Ganga Ki Saugandh, Dulhe Raja, Bal Brahmachari, Janani, Shyam Ghanashyam, Ek Hindustani and many more albums in his entire 35 years in the industry. Apart from playback singing many famous Music Companies like Zee Music, Venus, Universal, Tips, Archies Music, Shemaroo Audio, Asks Music approached him and made his music albums available in the market.
With the release of “Yaro Sab Dua Karo,” Ram Shankar’s super duper hit album by Zee Music, he became one of the Top Sufi and Playback singers of India. He then became the music director and directed some of the Bollywood hits like Khatron Ka Khiladi, Arjun Deva, Dil Bhi Kya Cheez Hai and so on playing his part in the success of the films.

Ram Shankar being the biggest beneficiary of music wanted to contribute in helping the upcoming singers and music directors. With the motto of finding the best, talented, and upcoming singers, he started a Vocal Academy by the name of “Viraasat Vocal Academy” at Andheri, Mumbai. He also played his role in recognizing the young talent as a jury member of the “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs,” a famous Hindi singing reality show which is aired on Zee TV.
